TUESDAYS 7-9PM

MARCH 25-MAY 6

(NO CLASS HELD 4/15 FOR SPRING BREAK)

$450 (materials provided)

A six-week course for teens and adult students of all levels who wish to explore monochromatic mediums and vastly improve drawing skills. Drawing from still life, the photograph, direct observation, and imagination, students will develop new and varying ways of seeing, and gain both technical abilities and creative responses. Class assignments allow students the opportunity to experiment with new mediums in black and white and investigate new ways to interpret subject matter. In each class, students will produce finished drawings focusing on an original theme or concept.

APRIL 11-MAY 9

FIBERS+MIXED-MEDIA

INSTRUCTOR: CASEY BADEN

FOR TEENS & ADULTS OF ALL LEVELS

SUNDAYS 3-6PM

MARCH 30-MAY 11

(NO CLASS HELD 4/20 FOR SPRING BREAK)

$650 (materials provided)

This is a six-week, hands-on course for teens and adults of all levels that explores contemporary fiber practices, focusing on the following four techniques: patchwork quilting, embroidery, natural dyeing, and weaving. The class will be skills-focused, with additional emphasis on creativity, design concepts, craftsmanship, and imaginative use of materials. Studio work and experimentation will be the foundation of learning, and students will be introduced to each of the techniques through in-depth instruction. Students will be asked to complete small homework projects with each technique. Final two classes allow students to use the skills learned in the previous four classes to make an artwork or art object of their own design—combining mixed-media and techniques.
