Teen Intensives Materials & Techniques

The weekly summer camps for teens offer in-depth experiences to develop new skills and methods for creativity, self-expression and art-making. Focusing on distinct immersive art encounters, students are exposed to a range of media and work in small groups to explore and expand critical thinking, personal awareness, and abilities over the summer through discovering exciting new ways of making, taking on new challenges, and developing their work. This specialized camp program provides serious art instruction over the break and offers middle and high schoolers access to reframe and respond to the world around them through engaging studio processes and practices, amongst a supportive, collaborative peer group. Each week provides developing young artists a deep-dive into learning about and using specific materials and techniques with a dedicated focus. No two weeks are alike!

WEEK 2—JUNE 16-20: MURAL PAINTING & SELF-PORTRAIT

WEEK 3—JUNE 23-27: SCULPTURE

WEEK 4—JULY 21-25: PORTRAIT DRAWING/PAINTING (W/LIVE MODEL)

WEEK 5—JUL 28-AUG 1: PRINTMAKING

WEEK 6—AUGUST 4-8: MIXED-MEDIA + COLLAGE

Children Experientials Media & Process

The weekly summer camps for children offer myriad explorations to develop new ways of processing, seeing, and responding to the world. Focusing on personal expression in abstract, expressive and narrative art-making and working from observation and imagination, students use a range of media and subject matter to improve perceptual, technical and creative abilities—including traditional and alternative approaches. This unique camp program provides serious art instruction over the summer break and offers elementary students ways to make connections and respond to their own lives and surroundings in new and meaningful ways—and motivation to look within and around themselves with more acute awareness. Experiences in media and process varies from week to week and includes drawing, painting, collage, sculpture, mixed-media and printmaking. No two weeks are alike!
